Healthcare Technical Assistance Program
- Who We Are

The Healthcare Technical Assistance Program (HealthcareTAP) was created in 2005 through a partnership between Purdue’s Technical Assistance Program, the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, and the Indiana Hospital Association. HealthcareTAP accomplishes its mission, to improve healthcare quality, safety and efficiency, by applying the principles of engineering, management and science. The original vision of helping hospitals with short term quality improvement projects has expanded greatly in recent years to not only continue to assist hospitals statewide, but also the general population through a variety of population health community based initiatives, the Healthy Workforce Program to contain health related costs for small employers, and I-HITEC to assist provider groups adoption of electronic health records.

In the past five years, the HealthcareTAP have completed over 78 projects statewide, touching all of Indiana’s 92 counties, and has trained over 2500 employees in areas such as LEAN Healthcare, Preparedness, Population Health Quality Improvement/or Local Public Health System Assessments, and wellness programming to develop more proactive healthcare consumers. The map below illustrates our wide reach through our various projects.
